Director of Quality

About the role

Gifford Health Care is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director of Quality to lead quality, patient safety, risk management, infection prevention, credentialing, medical staff services support, and regulatory compliance across Gifford Health Care, Gifford Medical Center, and Gifford Retirement Community. Reporting to the Vice President of Nursing, Quality & Patient Safety, the Director oversees Gifford’s Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and ensures patient care and organizational services meet regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards. The Director leads organization-wide quality improvement initiatives focused on improving outcomes, reducing risk, enhancing patient safety, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and analyzing quality data
• Overseeing required reporting
• Identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
• Presenting quality and performance results to leadership, medical staff, committees, and governing boards
• Leading regulatory compliance and survey readiness activities, including preparation for audits, surveys, and external reviews
• Providing leadership for patient safety and risk management, including event reporting, investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning
• Supervising professionals responsible for infection prevention, employee health, credentialing, and medical staff services support

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field (master’s preferred)
• Current clinical license (RN, MD, DO, etc.)
• At least five years of healthcare quality leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, data analysis, and improvement methodologies
