Director of Quality

Position Details

Position Summary: As the Director of Quality, you will be responsible for leading quality initiatives that directly support our operational and site objectives. You will drive continuous improvement efforts focused on zero defect methodologies that aim to eliminate errors and defects in all production, office, engineering and service stages.

Principal Activities

• Drive business metrics (safety, quality, on-time delivery, cost)
• Zero Defect Plans
• Driving systematic reduction of quality issues
• Prevention
• RCCA
• Lead of Quality technical team
• Interface with customers on key quality issues and initiatives
• Own the QMS
• Build and develop a high-performing quality team; provide hands-on coaching, establish performance standards, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Lead quality system requirements, Build to Specifications, Build to Print, Repair Station, STC and PMA
• Comply with all company policies/procedures
• Comply with all military and contractual requirements
• Perform additional related duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements

• Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
• 10 – 15 years of experience
• Quality leadership, ability to mentor, coach, develop and build a high functioning quality team
• Quality systems experience, extensive understanding of quality systems and quality engineering focusing on lean manufacturing and lean processes in Build to Specifications, Build to Print, Repair Station, STC and PMA
• High ethical standards. Models and supports organization’s goals and values; adapts to changing conditions; demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation. Use time effectively, prioritizes and organizes workflow; can orchestrate multiple activities at once
• Agility and personal adaptability with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities with a high sense of urgency in a rapidly changing environment
• Solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data. Make good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment

• Advanced knowledge of JDE/MRP, Access, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project, and other applicable tools
• Ability to provide cross-functional and organizational leadership within a highly matrixed organization
• Demonstrated aptitude for process improvement and use of Lean and Six-Sigma resources and tools
• Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to coach, assess, evaluate, develop, motivate and empower others

Education & Experience

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field, Master of Science in Engineering / Management or MBA preferred
