Director of Purchasing - Northwest Stadium
About the role
The Director of Purchasing is responsible for the overall operation of the Warehouse department. This role ensures accurate inventory controls, manages vendor relationships, negotiates pricing, oversees payables and receivables, and supervises department staff.
Responsibilities
- Communicates with key team and management associates relative to purchases consistent with needs and specifications.
- Sets up weekly inventory checks to ensure accuracy and correctness before submitting.
- Negotiates pricing and procures goods while ensuring timely delivery.
- Reviews shipments to confirm that received products match the orders.
- Compiles monthly reports using Excel and Visual Basic.
Requirements
- Minimum of Associate's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years related experience in field.
- Full knowledge of purchasing procedures, food, beverage, and printing products.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ordering systems.
- Good knowledge of food and inventory trends with a focus on operations.
- P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable.
- Accurate data-entry skills, computer skills, and detail-oriented with great organizational skills.
- Knowledge of school nutrition / food industry and/or purchasing strongly preferred.
- Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet.
- Serv Safe certification highly desirable.
