About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Director Of Public Policy to join the team of a leader in the Transportation space. This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen responsible execution, improve decision-making, and support sustainable growth within a operationally complex logistics environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth policy research to assess state laws
- Draft and negotiate legislative proposals with actionable insights
- Collaborate with lobbyists and advocacy groups to meet policy goals
- Work with internal teams to implement policy-related actions
- Provide expertise on regulations affecting growth and compliance
- Create materials to position the company as a leader in traffic safety tech
- Represent the company at industry events, forums, and panels
Qualifications
- 7-10 years in public policy, government affairs, or state-level lobbying
- Proven success in advancing transportation, education, or tech-related policies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for influencing stakeholders
- Preferred experience with public speaking and media interaction
- Excellent analytical and detail-oriented research abilities
- Highly organized, self-starter passionate about child safety and public policy
- Juris Doctorate preferred; advanced degree in public administration accepted

Compensation: $225,000 – $250,000 annually
