Position Overview

Closet Factory South Florida is seeking an experienced, hands-on Director of Production and Manufacturing Operations to lead our custom manufacturing operation in Deerfield Beach, FL. This is a senior factory leadership position responsible for production performance, workforce management, quality control, machinery maintenance, facility maintenance, safety, material flow, and the on-time completion of custom cabinetry and closet components.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience in a comparable production, manufacturing, or factory operations leadership role within the custom cabinetry, custom closet, architectural millwork, or woodworking industry.
  • Previous responsibility for managing a manufacturing workforce of at least 40 employees.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining, woodworking equipment, production methods, and manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of machinery maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, equipment troubleshooting, and maintenance documentation.
  • Experience overseeing facility maintenance, repairs, housekeeping standards, and vendor coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience managing production schedules, labor assignments, workflow, capacity, and daily output.
  • Strong understanding of quality-control procedures, workplace safety, inventory management, and material utilization.
  • Ability to lead supervisors, machine operators, technicians, assemblers, and other production employees.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, custom manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Cut Rite software platform is a plus.
  • Experience with woodWOP CNC programming software is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct all daily factory operations and production activities.
  • Manage, coach, develop, and hold accountable a manufacturing team of 40 or more employees.
  • Establish daily, weekly, and monthly production goals and monitor actual performance against forecasted output.
  • Oversee CNC machinery, woodworking equipment, edgebanders, assembly operations, and related production processes.
  • Maintain a hands-on presence throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure jobs are manufactured accurately, completely, and on schedule.
  • Reduce missing parts, remakes, rework, material waste, production delays, and quality defects.
  • Develop and enforce preventive maintenance schedules for all production machinery and equipment.
  • Confirm that machinery maintenance logs, repair records, and inspection documentation are completed accurately.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and minimize production downtime.
  • Oversee the maintenance, appearance, cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of the manufacturing facility.
  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules for facility systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, loading areas, storage areas, and safety equipment.
  • Coordinate outside contractors and service vendors for facility repairs, inspections, and maintenance projects.
  • Ensure facility-related issues are identified, documented, prioritized, and resolved promptly.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe manufacturing environment.
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, quality requirements, and production procedures.
  • Work closely with engineering, purchasing, inventory, installation, and executive management.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement measurable process improvements.
  • Provide regular reporting on production output, labor performance, quality, machinery maintenance, facility maintenance, waste, and operational risks.

  • Base starting salary of $125,000
