The Director of Product Management will lead and scale the teams behind two critical domains at Affirm: Loans Lifecycle and Money Movement. This role requires 10+ years of product management experience, including 3-5 years managing and developing PM teams.
Loans Lifecycle
- Define the multi-year product strategy for foundational loan systems, ensuring scalability, compliance, and rapid product innovation.
- Translate vision into clear roadmaps and decisions for teams to execute.
- Set the bar for craft, create development paths, and cultivate a culture of ownership, rigor, and candor.
- Be the domain authority on loan lifecycle mechanics, payment rails, settlement flows, and institutional transfers.
- Partner with Engineering, Accounting, Treasury, Capital Markets, Legal, Compliance, and Client Success teams to navigate complexity and balance stakeholder needs.
- Drive cross-functional alignment at scale to enable platform scalability and international expansion.
- Measure and improve platform health through defined success metrics and accountability to reliability and accuracy standards.
- Influence up and across the organization to shape organizational thinking on investments and priorities.
Money Movement
- Own the vision and strategy for Money Movement, ensuring scalability, compliance, and rapid product innovation.
- Translate vision into clear roadmaps and decisions for teams to execute.
- Be the domain authority on payment rails, settlement flows, cross-border transfers, and reliability and accuracy standards.
- Partner with Engineering, Accounting, Treasury, Capital Markets, Legal, Compliance, and Client Success teams to navigate complexity and balance stakeholder needs.
- Drive cross-functional alignment at scale to enable platform scalability and international expansion.
- Measure and improve platform health through defined success metrics and accountability to reliability and accuracy standards.
- Influence up and across the organization to shape organizational thinking on investments and priorities.
Qualifications
- Deep experience in loans or lending systems, understanding loan lifecycle mechanics, platform architecture for loan servicing, and compliance and operational requirements.
- Meaningful experience in money movement, payments infrastructure, or financial operations, fluency in payment rails, settlement flows, cross-border transfers, and reliability and accuracy standards.
- Experience in fintech, financial services, or banking, familiarity with BNPL, platform products, or backend infrastructure, and capital markets background.
- Demonstrated ability to set and execute long-term platform strategy in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Strong technical fluency, comfortable diving into data models and API discussions with engineers and holding informed opinions.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted tools to accelerate work and raise the bar for the team.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, aligning Legal, Finance, Engineering, and executive leadership around a common direction.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication, telling crisp, data-driven stories to diverse audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Pay & Benefits
Base pay ranges from $267,000 - $327,000 per year in the U.S. (excluding California, Washington, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut), with a T Equity Grade of 18. Affirm offers a comprehensive benefits package including health care coverage, flexible spending wallets, time off, ESPP, and more. Remote work is encouraged, with some roles requiring occasional office visits.
