Pay

Base pay in range will be determined by applicant’s skills and experience. Full-time associates in role are also eligible for an annual bonus incentive.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing with spend greater than $250M, aiming for cost reductions in total cost of goods and services, increasing total % of spend automated with national and regional vendors, and maintaining or improving quality and vendor service levels
• Report directly to the Vice President of Procurement and align closely with key stakeholders to maximize Brookdale’s buying potential and savings opportunities in excess of $5M annually
• Utilize strategic sourcing processes to ensure contracts meet the needs of Brookdale’s 1,150+ communities, providing synergy in process and savings based on contract expiration date or business need
• Identify and prioritize sourcing projects within spend area and develop the annual procurement plan
• Lead or participate in cross-functional teams in the development of sourcing strategies
• Develop project plans and timelines for new projects or programs
• Negotiate and implement regional and national contracts to support savings and service goals
• Drive contract and vendor compliance to new and existing national agreements
• Provide detailed reporting on Brookdale programs including trend analysis, rebate tracking, savings initiatives, etc.
• Manage all order guides and lead blocking initiative to recommend items to block or allow in ecommerce ordering portal to maximize savings
• Work with analysts to ensure program is maintained on an ongoing basis (price verification, product block, etc.)

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of 5–10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Master’s degree preferred

Certifications, Licenses, And Other Special Requirements

• CPSM preferred

• Proven success sourcing food categories for a national, multi-location organization including managing RFPs, vendor relationships, contract compliance, etc.

• Strong analytical background—proficient in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word
• Strong communication and project management skills
• Research and data analysis—cost structure analysis
• Willingness to make tough decisions and challenge conventional thinking
