Responsibilities

  • Oversee and provide support to adjunct faculty teaching Practicum education courses within the social work program.
  • Ensure that Practicum education readiness is provided to social work students across their curriculum.
  • Work with the Program Director to ensure the educational and administrative direction of the Practicum education program complies with CSWE accreditation standards.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with social work students to ensure their Practicum education placement and Practicum Supervisor/Educator align with the social work program’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide orientation to and maintain professional communication with Practicum Supervisors/Educators regarding the social work program’s policies, procedures, and required documentation.
  • Invite BSW Supervisors/Educators to training via a CANVAS link upon completion of orientation.
  • Maintain and update training modules.
  • Serve as the primary contact and facilitator of Articulation Agreements between social work students’ Practicum placement or agency and Maryville University, collaborating with the Program Director and Dean of the Walker College of Health Professions.
  • Document the Articulation Agreement process in the Practicum Education Spreadsheet in SharePoint.
  • Review and follow up on specific needs of each Articulation Agreement in collaboration with the Program Director and Dean.
  • Develop and coordinate all Practicum sites.
  • Oversee all social work students completing their Practicum education.
  • Ensure all Practicum assessment documentation is filed electronically in designated spaces according to program policies.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director to collect and analyze yearly data outcomes related to Practicum Education.
  • Oversee and assist social work students in their Practicum education courses as specified by program policies and handbooks.
  • Ensure social work students are oriented and prepared for their Practicum Education experience.
  • Provide 1 hour of weekly supervision to students whose Practicum Supervisors/Educators do not hold a social work degree.
  • Administer and maintain Practicum education-related documentation through the University’s LMS (CANVAS), Slack, and Tevera.
  • Communicate with and advise students throughout their program on Practicum Education.
  • Collaborate with Practicum Educators, adjunct faculty, and the Program Director.
  • Complete administrative documentation of the Practicum Education spreadsheet in SharePoint weekly.
  • Provide updates in weekly social work faculty meetings and as needed with the Program Director.

Requirements

  • MSW (Master’s in Social Work) from a CSWE-accredited program.
  • 5 years of post-MSW experience.
  • LCSW or equivalent clinical licensure in the state of residence.
  • Knowledge of BSW practicum/field experiences.
  • Online, asynchronous social work teaching experience through an LMS system, preferably CANVAS.
  • Synchronous teaching experience via Zoom through an LMS system (CANVAS).
  • Experience with ALE teaching practices through online social work education.
