Director of Practice Management

About the Role

A growing independent wealth management firm is hiring an experienced leader to manage the internal operation of the practice and develop the team responsible for delivering the client experience. The right person will combine RIA operations, people leadership, organizational development, and business management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily practice operations and team performance.
• Manage relationship-management and client-service employees.
• Clarify roles, reporting relationships, and accountability.
• Build training, onboarding, development, and succession plans.
• Lead hiring, performance reviews, coaching, and retention efforts.
• Create practical KPIs and management reporting.
• Improve client onboarding, meeting preparation, follow-up, and service workflows.
• Coordinate PTO, benefits, vendors, policies, and office administration.
• Help reduce the founder’s involvement in routine daily decisions.

Requirements

• 10+ years in an RIA, wealth management firm, or financial planning practice.
• At least 5 years of direct people-management experience.
• Experience managing client-service or relationship-management teams.
• Strong background in training, performance management, workflows, and KPIs.
• Comfortable working directly with a founder in a hands-on environment.
• Able to work onsite five days per week in Central Long Island.
• No securities licenses or personal production are required.

Pay

$180K–$200K Base + Bonus + Benefits
