About the Opportunity

The Director of Planning will lead the end-to-end inventory planning strategy, including purchasing and sales planning, to support profitable growth. This role is responsible for managing the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process by balancing demand forecasts, inventory investment, production capacity, and supply constraints. The position requires collaborating across several departments to align commercial demand with operational execution and to enable effective business scaling.

Responsibilities

• Own inventory sales plan forecast across seasonal launches, replenishment, and new categories
• Build bottom-up SKU, color, and size-level forecasts using various data sources
• Develop forecasting methodologies accounting for product lifecycle dynamics
• Incorporate promotional and customer acquisition trends into forecasts
• Lead forecast reviews to improve accuracy
• Translate sales forecasts into inventory and vendor production plans optimizing stock and cash flow
• Manage inventory targets and health metrics
• Balance inventory needs against operational constraints
• Partner with sourcing and production for timely replenishment and launches
• Mitigate inventory risks through scenario and contingency planning
• Lead the S&OP process, facilitating cross-functional alignment
• Cook up coordination between marketing, operational, and financial teams
• Provide strategic input on inventory investment and operational risks
• Manage in-stock rates and size availability for e-commerce and marketplaces
• Optimize inventory allocation across sales channels
• Align inventory with product lifecycle strategies
• Track and report key performance metrics
• Develop dashboards and scalable planning processes
• Identify operational risks and recommend data-driven solutions

Requirements

• Experience in inventory planning, demand forecasting, and sales & operations planning
• Ability to build detailed forecasts at SKU and size level
• Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, finance, sourcing, and supply chain
• Skills in managing inventory targets, mitigating risks, and balancing operational constraints
• Capability to lead planning processes and communicate effectively with executive leadership

Pay Range and Compensation Package
