Director of Physical Education and Health

About the role

To provide leadership and supervision for the class instruction in the physical education and health programs.

Responsibilities

• Hires Physical Education teachers.
• Participates in the physical education faculty evaluations.
• Sets the long-term vision for the K-12 physical education program, including goal setting for the department.
• Coordinates the K-5 Health sequence with the K-5 PE and Health Head.
• Holds physical education departmental meetings with the physical education leadership team (HS department chair, MS department chair, K-5 PE and Health Head) twice a year.
• Holds meetings with K-12 physical education teachers annually.
• Attends two Administrative Council meetings annually to inform building leadership on goals of the physical education department.

Requirements and Eligibility

• Certification in physical education and administrative and supervisory service.
• Assigned to a 1.0 FTE teaching position and tenured.

Stipend

• Year 1: $6,000
• Year 2: $7,000
• Year 3: $8,000
• Required to work 5 days during the summer each year.
