About The Role

The Director of People & Organizational Development plays a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the human capital strategy within a dynamic construction environment. This leadership position is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive talent management, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness initiatives that align with the company’s strategic goals. The role demands a forward-thinking approach to fostering a culture of continuous learning, employee engagement, and high performance across all levels of the organization. By collaborating closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, the Director will drive change management efforts and build scalable programs that support workforce growth and operational excellence. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of progressive experience in human resources or organizational development roles, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing talent management and organizational development strategies within a construction or related industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, compliance standards, and best practices in HR and organizational development.
  • Proven ability to lead change management initiatives and influence senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or an MBA.
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or CPTD.
  • Experience working in large-scale construction companies or complex project-based organizations.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and data analytics tools to drive insights and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated success in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic people and organizational development plans that support business objectives and growth within the construction industry.
  • Lead initiatives related to talent acquisition, employee engagement, leadership development, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Partner with senior leaders to assess organizational needs and design targeted interventions that enhance workforce capabilities and productivity.
  • Oversee change management processes to facilitate smooth transitions during organizational restructuring, technology adoption, or cultural transformation.
  • Manage and mentor a team of HR and development professionals, ensuring effective delivery of programs and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze workforce data and metrics to inform decision-making and measure the impact of development initiatives.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies to build a supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to human resources and organizational development.
