About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of People & Culture at Fairmont Breakers will lead the hotel’s human resources function, aligning people strategies with the hotel’s strategic plan and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Exemplify and lead the Company Service and Brand Culture initiatives.
  • Act as the Strategic Business Partner and functional Subject Matter Expert to Senior Hotel Leadership.
  • Align and execute People & Culture activities to the Employee Value Proposition and Strategic plan.
  • Oversee people & culture initiatives, acting as a liaison between the corporate office and hotel.
  • Collaborate with the corporate Talent & Culture function on key programs and initiatives.
  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day operation of the People & Culture Department.
  • Lead labor relations initiatives.
  • Promote positive employee relations, overall employee experience, and drive employee engagement through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, mutual respect, and fun.
  • Proven success in leading strategic initiatives that positively impact hotel KPIs.

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience as a Director, People & Culture / Human Resources (in both union and non-union settings).
  • Passionate about promoting company values and creating programming that supports a positive workplace culture.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent influencing skills and the ability to build relationships easily among various stakeholder groups.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. employment laws, including California State Law.
  • University/College degree in a related discipline, or a combination of education and experience.

Pay

Salary range: $130,000 - $170,000 USD gross per annum.
