Responsibilities

The Director of Osteopathic Education Faculty for the Family Medicine Residency educates and trains family medicine residents. The Director of Osteopathic Education has additional responsibilities to ensure that all residents that desire and qualify for participation on the Osteopathic Recognition Track have an appropriate educational experience.

Qualifications

  • DO or MD degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification in Family Medicine (Preferred)
  • Certification through the AOA or qualifications judged acceptable by the ACGME Osteopathic Recognition Committee
  • Eligibility for an unrestricted medical license in Maine
  • Two years of experience as a practicing physician, with prior teaching experience preferred
