Pay
Salary range: $110,684 - $171,657, depending on qualifications and experience.
Purpose
The Director of Nutrition Services directs food and nutrition programs and services; provides information and serves as a resource to others; achieves defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing, and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines; and serves as a member of the leadership team. Reports to the Assistant Business Administrator/Director of Finance for Timpanogos School District.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g., other administrators, auditors, public agencies, community members, etc.) to implement and/or maintain services and programs.
- Directs department operations, maintenance of services, and implementation of new programs and/or processes to provide services within established timeframes and in compliance with related requirements.
- Facilitates meetings and workshops to identify issues, develop recommendations, support other staff, and serve as a District representative.
- Inspects cafeterias to ensure healthful and sanitary conditions.
- Manages a wide variety of programs to ensure district compliance with established guidelines.
- Monitors budget allocations, expenditures, fund balances, and related financial activities to ensure accuracy, proper revenue recording, budget adherence, and fiscal practices.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars to convey and/or gather information required to perform functions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Performs personnel functions (e.g., interviewing, evaluating, supervising) to maintain adequate staffing, enhance productivity, and achieve objectives within budget.
- Presents information (e.g., budget overviews, accounting processes, distribution formulas) to communicate information, gain feedback, and ensure adherence to established internal controls.
- Recommends new hires, promotions, termination, and transfers to maintain staffing needs and workforce productivity.
- Researches topics (e.g., new products, safety and health requirements, laws, regulations) to recommend purchases, contracts, and maintain district-wide services.
- Performs other duties as assigned to ensure efficient operations.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in School Nutrition.
- 2 years of management experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a job-related area. Master’s Degree preferred.
