About the role

Launch your leadership career with our comprehensive 6-month Director of Resident Care Services In-Training (DRCSIT) program. This immersive experience provides the skills and knowledge you need to excel as a Senior Living Director of Resident Care Services/Director of Nursing (DON). Learn directly from an experienced Belmont Village Director of Resident Care Services Preceptor at one of our vibrant assisted living and memory care communities, gradually increasing your responsibilities as you grow.

Our structured program combines on-the-job shadowing, a comprehensive skills checklist, self-paced online modules, leadership assessments, and hands-on experience. You’ll be guided by your preceptor and the program administrator, developing both technical expertise and essential leadership skills. Successful completion prepares you to apply for Director of Resident Care Services positions at Belmont Village.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a hands-on rotational program covering all aspects of care and clinical services, mentored by an experienced Director of Resident Care Services.
  • Develop skills to effectively manage licensed nurses, medication technicians, and caregivers, including scheduling and assigning daily tasks.
  • Learn to serve as a liaison between physicians, residents, and families, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.
  • Participate in an on-call schedule to address after-hours clinical needs.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of regulatory compliance while upholding Belmont Village’s mission and values.
  • Engage in structured mentorship with regular communication, feedback, self-evaluations, and progress reports from the Program Administrator and Executive Director Preceptor.
  • Actively drive your own learning, seek opportunities to apply new skills, and leverage resources provided during the training.

Requirements

  • Active current LVN, LPN, or RN Nursing license in applicable state(s).
  • At least 1 year of employment experience in a nursing role.
  • Prior experience in management/supervisory roles within the Assisted Living industry (or closely related fields) is highly preferred.
  • Nursing experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, or other Long-Term Care settings preferred.
  • Proficient in workplace technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, basic computer troubleshooting, internet navigation, and video conferencing, with the ability to rapidly learn new technological systems.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules in a 24-hour operation, including early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal English.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.
  • Must be open and willing to relocate following the training for your first assignment as Assistant Executive Director or Executive Director to any market where Belmont Village operates.
