About the Role

As the Director of Emergency Services, you will provide overall clinical, operational, financial, and strategic leadership for a 24/7 Emergency Department. Beyond overseeing day-to-day operations, you'll serve as a key leader within the hospital, helping drive organizational goals while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence. Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for all Emergency Services functions
• Lead departmental staffing, workforce planning, budgeting, and financial performance
• Drive initiatives focused on patient experience, quality outcomes, throughput, and operational efficiency
• Build and mentor a high-performing leadership team, including managers, coordinators, and charge nurses
• Partner with physicians, hospital leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to advance departmental and organizational goals
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission, EMTALA, OSHA, and state requirements
• Foster a culture centered on accountability, engagement, professional development, and patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field
• Master's Degree (MSN, MBA, MHA, or related field) required, or willingness to obtain within an established timeframe
• Minimum 3–5 years of Emergency Department leadership experience at the Manager, Senior Manager, or Director level
• Demonstrated success leading ED operations, staffing, budgeting, quality initiatives, and performance improvement efforts
• Strong understanding of emergency services regulations, accreditation standards, and operational best practices
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
