About the Role
As the Director of Nursing at the Waters of Pewaukee, you'll be a key leader in the community, responsible for both the clinical and operational aspects of resident care. Your duties extend beyond direct patient care to include team management, quality assurance, and compliance. You will work with an RN Case Manager and a dedicated Staff Scheduler.
Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Oversee all aspects of resident care, including the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of personalized care plans.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, collaborate with residents and their families, and coordinate care with other departments and external healthcare providers.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all nursing practices comply with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular audits, implement quality improvement initiatives, and maintain a "survey-ready" environment at all times.
Health and Wellness Programs
- Create and oversee health-related programs that promote resident well-being, including infection prevention protocols and educational sessions for residents and staff.
Operational Management
- Team Leadership: Manage the full lifecycle of your nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Budget Oversight: Manage the nursing department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for staffing, supplies, and equipment.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with other departments like dining, housekeeping, and administration to ensure a seamless experience for residents and their families.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in good standing by the state where the community is located.
- Previous experience in healthcare leadership, nursing administration, or other related experience.
- Knowledge of Eldermark software is a plus.
