Medical Behavioral Hospital, a member of the NeuroPsychiatric Hospital family, is seeking a Director of Nursing (RN) to oversee the hospital's nursing department and day-to-day operations of program policies, procedures, and guidelines. The priority is clinical excellence with exceptional compliance performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the nursing staff and processes of the units.
- Create, develop, and implement the strategic plan for areas of responsibility, consistent with the organization’s strategic plan.
- Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed regularly and implemented effectively throughout areas of responsibility.
- Play a key role during all regulatory surveys and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Actively participate in Performance Improvement (PI) committee meetings and report data.
- Plan, organize, and control all aspects of risk management activities.
- Ensure a safe environment for patients, clients, employees, and visitors in compliance with laws, regulations, and accrediting agency standards.
- Plan, develop, implement, and continuously improve nursing services to maintain standards of patient care in compliance with organizational policies, state licensing, and Joint Commission requirements.
- Ensure adequate staffing for areas of responsibility to provide quality care and patient safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Bachelor's of Health Administration from an accredited college or university.
- Master of Science in Nursing or a Master's of Health Administration preferred.
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in acute psychiatric, mental health, medical-surgical, or emergency department settings.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing management or leadership experience.
- Previous experience in addiction or psychiatric care highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission, State, and CMS requirements.
