Director of Nursing

About the role

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the organization and administration of the nursing services of the Hospital Rehabilitation Center. This role holds administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for the functions and activities of the nursing staff. The Director of Nursing ensures that the total needs of the patients are met and keeps the Administrator and Medical Director of the Rehabilitation Center informed of nursing service activities and any problems relating to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and administer nursing services within the Hospital Rehabilitation Center.
• Ensure the total needs of patients are met through effective nursing staff management.
• Maintain communication with the Administrator and Medical Director regarding nursing service activities and patient care issues.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of supervisory experience in a Long Term/Rehab setting.
• Valid NJ RN License.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Ability to lead, mentor, coach, and educate others to accomplish projects.
• Polished oral and written communication and presentation skills.
