The Role
The Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Santa Rosa, California, seeks a Director of Music to lead the adult Parish Choir, play organ and piano for Sunday worship, and partner with the rector in liturgical and service planning.
We envision this as a single Director of Music responsible for both organ and choir direction, though we are open to a conversation about separating these roles for the right candidates.
Responsibilities
- Lead the adult Parish Choir, including rehearsals and performances
- Play organ and piano for Sunday worship services
- Partner with the rector in liturgical and service planning
- Expand the musical repertoire to include a variety of styles and traditions
- Engage with the congregation to foster a love of music and participation in liturgy
Requirements
- Strong skills in choral direction and keyboard performance
- Experience with liturgical music and church music traditions
- Warm, patient, and pastoral approach to working with volunteer musicians
- Ability to work collaboratively with the rector and other staff members
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music or related field
- Experience leading a choir and/or playing organ/piano in a church setting
- Knowledge of Anglican liturgical traditions and hymnody

Pay
Salaried, non-exempt; salary range: $42,000–$48,000, commensurate with experience
