Responsibilities
- Select and place the music for all liturgies: Weekend masses (2), Seasonal and special celebrations, Holy Week, Advent, and Holy Days of Obligation
- Accompany, on piano, all liturgies
- - Work with engaged couples in preparing wedding liturgies
- - Work with bereaved in preparing funeral liturgies
- Recruit, train, rehearse and direct cantors, choir members, and instrumentalists
- Be current in knowledge or official statements and Church documents on music and liturgy.
- Have a strong commitment to personal development in both music and liturgy.
- Work collaboratively with the pastor to achieve a vibrant liturgical life in the parishes.
Requirements
- Must be a practicing Catholic living in accord with the moral norms of the Church.
- Pass Safe Environment background checks and attend Protecting God’s Children.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, employees, and the public.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Working Conditions
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, when necessary.
- Able to travel and drive one's own vehicle to various diocesan locations.
