Job Summary
Homeland Talent Solutions has partnered with a respected healthcare organization to identify an experienced Director of Med-Surg to lead a collaborative acute care team within a growing hospital system.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational and clinical leadership oversight for the Medical Surgical department
- Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff and frontline clinical teams
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, productivity, and labor management initiatives
- Drive operational efficiency and support workflow optimization efforts
- Foster a collaborative culture centered on accountability, teamwork, and patient-focused care
- Partner with executive leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve departmental and organizational goals
- Monitor quality outcomes, patient satisfaction scores, and department performance metrics
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and evidence-based practices
- Support employee engagement, staff development, and retention initiatives
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and continued department growth
- Promote service excellence and a high standard of patient care throughout the department
Requirements
- Current RN license required
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred
- Prior Med-Surg or acute care leadership experience preferred
- Strong leadership experience in staffing, operations, and team development required
- Experience working within an acute care hospital setting required
- Knowledge of productivity management, labor management, and quality improvement initiatives preferred
- BLS certification required
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal collaboration skills required
- Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities preferred
