Director of Maternal/Child Services - (Obstetrical Services)

Role Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and directs patient care activities in the Obstetrical Department, including labor & delivery, postpartum, nursery, and antepartum visits.
• Implements and monitors standards of care for obstetrical nursing practice and develops policies and procedures to reflect best practice.
• Obtains and controls equipment and supplies.
• Prepares, monitors, and evaluates an annual budget, operational plan, and performance improvement plan.
• Interviews, hires, supervises, and evaluates nursing and support personnel.
• Responsible for contracts and charge master for the department.
• Participates in nursing leadership activities and the organizational strategic planning and implementation process.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin.
• 3 years of experience in Obstetrical nursing with NRP certification preferred.
• Two years of supervisory experience would be preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Proficient in computerized medical record documentation.
• Knowledgeable of The Joint Commission, CMS, AWHONN, ACOG, AAP, and other applicable standards.
