Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensure manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed industry and customer requirements for cost, quality, and responsiveness.
- Work closely with the COO and cross-functional partners on manufacturing plans, goals, and future product innovations.
- Play an active role in senior-level negotiations and relationship building with client companies and manufacturing partners.
- Show strong leadership and management skills to create a capable and sustainable Manufacturing and Operations Function.
- Lead the creation of change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results.
- Drive innovation in manufacturing processes, particularly in Aerospace and Defense industries, and apply Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma principles.
- Directly resolve complex or unusual business problems using advanced analytical thought and judgment.
- Develop plans for new technological areas in manufacturing functions to maintain leading-edge capabilities.
- Manage employees and operations of the manufacturing function, either in-house or through sub-contractors.
- Evaluate resource assignments to meet production facility needs.
- Enforce company policies and regulations related to safety, attendance, conduct, and other plant rules.
- Mentor and coach personnel and recommend additional training to Human Resources as needed.
- Perform timely annual evaluations of direct reports.
- Coordinate manufacturing activities to optimize quality and cost-effectiveness towards meeting company goals and objectives.
- Stay updated on industry technical changes and provide recommendations for training supervisor personnel.
- Develop and submit annual capital expenditure and expense budgets.
- Utilize budgeted resources, including manpower, equipment, and facilities, to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of experience as a Director of Manufacturing.
- Demonstrated success in a highly collaborative environment with excellent English written and oral communications skills.
- Strong background in aerospace manufacturing and defense products, with experience supporting Aerospace or Defense Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
- Experience managing aerospace or defense manufacturing facilities in both prototype and series production programs.
- Charismatic leader and manager capable of developing constructive and positive working relationships with peers, customers, and subordinates.
- Experience with ERP system design and implementation.
- Proven ability to achieve high-level results in a challenging environment, reduce manufacturing unit cost, and increase contribution to gross margins.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Must be a US person as defined by ITAR (22CFR 120.15).
