Director of Manufacturing

Restek is seeking a Director of Manufacturing to lead our headquarters manufacturing organization, shaping its strategy, performance, and financial results. This pivotal leadership role operates with significant autonomy, owning multi-year decisions on capacity, automation, and capital investment while serving as the senior voice for manufacturing in cross-functional partnerships with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, R&D, and Commercial leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Leadership
  • Own overall production performance across headquarters manufacturing, driving productivity, throughput, cost reduction, and operational excellence.
  • Direct the allocation of people, equipment, materials, and capital, and own the compliance and data systems that enable business scalability.
  • Serve as the final decision-making authority for significant operational disruptions and systemic manufacturing issues.
• Strategy
  • Own the multi-year manufacturing strategy, including capacity, footprint, automation, technology, and make-versus-buy decisions aligned with company growth.
  • Partner with R&D and Product Management on manufacturing feasibility and new product scale-up to ensure quality and delivery are engineered in from the start.
  • Set performance metrics and governance cadence to monitor manufacturing performance and prioritize improvement investments.
• Financial Accountability
  • Own the manufacturing organization’s operating and capital budgets, cost centers, and financial and productivity targets.
  • Build business cases to secure executive approval for major investments in equipment, facilities, and systems.
• Leadership & Culture
  • Build, lead, and develop the manufacturing management team, establishing succession plans to secure the leadership pipeline.
  • Own organizational design, workforce planning, and staffing strategy to meet current commitments and scale with the business.
  • Model and cultivate a culture of accountability, safety, and engagement that reflects Restek’s expectations of senior leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, chemistry, or a related field (or equivalent experience); an advanced degree is a plus.
• 15 years of progressive manufacturing experience, including leadership of multiple departments or sites at the Director or Senior Manager level.
• Proven track record of owning operating and capital budgets and leading major change initiatives such as capacity expansion, new product scale-up, automation, or operational transformation.
• Strong grounding in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methods, with financial acumen to manage cost centers and CAPEX.
