Director of Manufacturing – Aerospace & Defense

About the role

A growing advanced manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Director of Manufacturing to lead and scale a highly regulated production operation in Northeast Mississippi. This executive-level position will oversee manufacturing performance, workforce leadership, capacity planning, operational improvement, budgets, and capital investments. The Director will partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure production meets demanding safety, quality, cost, delivery, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day manufacturing and production operations
• Improve safety, quality, cost, delivery, throughput, and workforce productivity
• Scale personnel, equipment, facilities, and processes to support organizational growth
• Lead continuous-improvement and operational-excellence initiatives
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and senior leadership
• Manage manufacturing budgets, resource allocation, and capital investments
• Develop manufacturing managers, supervisors, and production personnel
• Strengthen production systems, processes, reporting, and operational controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering
• Director-level, plant, or senior manufacturing leadership experience
• Background in aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment
• Experience leading complex production operations
• Strong Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
• Demonstrated success improving cost, quality, delivery, and operational performance
• ERP or manufacturing-systems experience
• Ability to satisfy applicable U.S. export-control requirements

Pay

$140,000 – $170,000 + Bonus + Benefits
