This role drives the company’s growth strategy through two primary pillars: Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and management of Corporate Initiatives. The Director will work closely with the Head of Corporate Strategy and other Senior Leadership Team members to achieve large corporation-wide goals, including the creation and diversification of the Optimal Blue Portfolio Company (OBPC) beyond mortgage.
Responsibilities
- Accelerate Inorganic Growth Through Acquisitions (75%)
- M&A Strategy & Execution
- Lead research and analysis of the mortgage technology market and adjacent/new verticals to identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities.
- Create and maintain vertical-specific market maps for targeted acquisition areas.
- Manage the M&A cycle, from developing the M&A thesis and sourcing the pipeline to organizing diligence and negotiating deals, in partnership with OBPC and CSI leadership.
- Organize internal leadership reviews and manage deliverables during initial and post-LOI diligence.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and events to enhance brand presence, evangelize the vision, and cultivate a pipeline of M&A and strategic partnership opportunities.
- Integration of Best Practices
- Develop the internal OBPC M&A execution team and establish OBPC best practices for M&A, aligned with CSI methodologies.
- Lead the integration of acquired companies into CSI or OBPC, whether standalone, tucked-in, or in a new vertical.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop a Value Creation Playbook aligned with CSI methodologies and oversee post-merger integration.
- For standalone acquisitions, work closely with OBPC leadership to ensure adoption of OBPC and CSI best practices and corporate culture.
- M&A Strategy & Execution
- Strategic Initiative Management (25%)
- Utilize the CSI “Initiative” framework for major non-acquisition investments, requiring a formal business plan with financial returns, project timelines, milestones, and updates to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
- Key Areas of Focus
- Turnaround & Transformation: Partner with senior leadership on critical, cross-functional projects such as new customer-facing initiatives, product rollouts, and other significant transformations.
- Operational Excellence: Drive strategic improvements across the business, including AI adoption, Salesforce utilization and upgrades, and Snowflake implementation.
- New Revenue Streams: Collaborate with the Head of Corporate Strategy and other executives to create new revenue sources with varying investment levels.
- Engage with internal executive sponsors to create initial business plans with clear financial goals, establish project timelines and deliverables, manage projects, and provide ongoing reports to the SLT and parent company.
Pay
The estimated base salary range for this role is USD $112,500.00 – USD $137,500.00 per year. Final offer amounts may vary based on job-related factors, including work location, candidate experience, and expertise.
