About the role
St. Columbkille Parish is seeking a faithful, collaborative, and enthusiastic individual to serve as Director of Liturgy and Music. The role provides leadership for the parish's liturgical and music ministries, working collaboratively with clergy, staff, and volunteers to plan and coordinate Sunday Masses, Holy Days, sacramental celebrations, and other special liturgies. The Director ensures worship is prayerful, welcoming, and rooted in the rich traditions of the Catholic Church while fostering active participation through beautiful, reverent liturgy and the formation of volunteer musicians and liturgical ministers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and enhance the liturgical life of the parish
- Direct the parish music ministry
- Plan and coordinate Sunday Masses, Holy Days, sacramental celebrations, and special liturgies
- Foster active participation in worship through reverent liturgy
- Form and develop volunteer musicians and liturgical ministers
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Catholic liturgy
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Demonstrated musical ability
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Passion for helping others encounter Christ through worship
- 5–10 years of relevant experience
