Director of Laboratory - Full Time

About the role

Join our Leadership Team at Southwest Healthcare System as a Director of Laboratory! SWHS consists of two acute-care hospitals: Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, CA and Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta, CA.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coordinates and participates in activities of staff performing various chemical, hematological, microscopic and bacteriological tests of body fluids, exudates, and skin scrapings to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease and procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with The Joint Commission and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
• Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times.
• Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
• Maintains a high level of technical knowledge demonstrating expert knowledge of lab tests and their clinical significance.
• Demonstrates ability to manage time effectively to complete projects

Qualifications

• Five (5) to Seven (7) years of clinical experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) required.
• Minimum three (3) years leadership experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or in related field required, acute care experience preferred.
• Minimum Essential Education Bachelor's degree in a life science or related field from an accredited College or University required. Master's degree in related field from an accredited College or University preferred.
• Required Licensure / Certifications Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License in the State of California
