About Scribe Therapeutics

Scribe Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company engineering CRISPR-based technologies into purpose-built in vivo genetic medicines designed to become standard of care treatments for patients suffering from highly prevalent diseases, starting with cardiometabolic disease. Leveraging its CRISPR by Design™ approach and nature’s blueprint for improved cardiovascular health, Scribe’s initial programs focus on addressing the key drivers of ASCVD such as elevated LDL-C, lipoprotein(a), and triglycerides. The company’s lead candidate, STX-1150, is a novel liver-targeted therapy designed to epigenetically silence the PCSK9 gene and reduce LDL-C levels without inducing permanent DNA changes. To broaden and accelerate the impact of its engineered CRISPR technologies for patients, Scribe has formed strategic collaborations with world-leading pharmaceutical companies including Sanofi and Eli Lilly. Co-founded by Nobel Prize winner Jennifer Doudna and backed by leading life sciences investors, Scribe is advancing scalable, transformative, and preventative genetic medicines with the goal of improving outcomes and democratizing access to the protective effects of beneficial human genetics.

About the role

We are seeking a strategic, highly motivated, and collaborative Director of Investor Relations to help communicate Scribe’s scientific, clinical, and corporate progress to the investment community. This individual will join a dynamic and diverse team working to advance the next generation of CRISPR-based therapeutics and will have significant opportunities to shape the investor relations function as Scribe grows as a public biotechnology company.

Responsibilities

  • Investor Relations Strategy and Execution
    • Partner with the CFO, CEO, and senior leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive investor relations strategy aligned with Scribe’s corporate objectives, anticipated milestones, financing strategy, and long-term value-creation plan.
    • Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for current and prospective shareholders, sell-side research analysts, and other members of the investment community, ensuring timely, consistent, and credible engagement.
    • Build and maintain productive relationships with biotechnology-focused institutional investors, generalist investors, research analysts, and other relevant capital-markets stakeholders.
    • Develop a structured investor engagement and targeting program, including non-deal roadshows, investor conferences, one-on-one meetings, analyst interactions, site visits, and other investor events.
    • Maintain a detailed investor relationship-management process that captures interactions, areas of interest, follow-up items, investor feedback, and changes in engagement over time.
    • Own the annual IR operating plan, calendar, and budget, coordinating earnings, scientific and medical congresses, investor conferences, non-deal roadshows, major data readouts, and other value-inflection events.
  • Financial, Corporate, and Scientific Communications
    • Lead the development of investor-facing materials, including the corporate presentation, investor fact sheet, conference materials, website content, executive talking points, investor Q&A, and milestone-specific communications.
    • Partner with Finance, Legal, and Corporate Communications on quarterly financial-results materials, including earnings releases, conference-call scripts, supporting slides, prepared remarks, and anticipated Q&A.
    • Drive disciplined development, review, version control, and timely publication of investor-facing materials, maintaining a reliable source of truth across presentations, scripts, Q&A, press releases, SEC filings, and website disclosures.
    • Work with scientific, clinical, and medical leaders to translate complex platform, preclinical, clinical, regulatory, and competitive information into clear and balanced messages for sophisticated healthcare investors and broader audiences.
    • Develop milestone-specific communications plans for clinical data readouts and scientific congresses, including investor-relevant interpretation, executive briefing materials, anticipated questions, and coordinated follow-up.
  • Market Intelligence and Leadership Counsel
    • Monitor and synthesize investor sentiment, analyst research, shareholder activity, sector trends, peer-company developments, financing activity, and competitive data into actionable insights for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
    • Maintain a current understanding of Scribe’s shareholder base and trading dynamics, working with external surveillance and shareholder-identification providers as appropriate.
    • Maintain and analyze sell-side consensus models, research assumptions, valuation frameworks, and areas of investor debate; identify factual inconsistencies and coordinate appropriate follow-up based on publicly disclosed information.
    • Develop regular investor relations reports and briefing materials that summarize investor feedback, market perceptions, peer performance, key questions, and emerging areas of opportunity or concern.
    • Provide candid, evidence-based counsel to senior leadership regarding investor expectations, message clarity, disclosure considerations, and likely market reaction to company developments.
  • Public-Company Readiness and Cross-Functional Partnership
    • Help build and continually improve the processes, calendars, controls, and cross-functional workflows required for a high-quality public-company investor relations function.
    • Partner closely with Legal and Finance to support compliance with SEC requirements, Regulation FD, insider-trading policies, disclosure controls, and applicable Nasdaq rules.
    • Coordinate with Corporate Communications and external advisors to align investor, media, digital, and employee communications while maintaining appropriate audience-specific messaging.
    • Develop proactive and rapid-response plans for market-moving events, including clinical results, regulatory updates, competitive developments, financings, partnerships, and other corporate announcements.
    • Manage external investor relations advisors, vendors, surveillance providers, conference partners, and other resources, including budgets, deliverables, and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in the life sciences, finance, economics, business, communications, or a related field is preferred. An advanced scientific, business, or finance degree is a plus.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in investor relations, healthcare equity research, life-sciences investment banking or investing, biotechnology corporate communications, corporate finance, or a related capital-markets role.
  • Substantial biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life-sciences experience is required, including a strong understanding of drug development, clinical and regulatory milestones, scientific data, and sector-specific valuation drivers.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop investor messaging and materials that are strategically compelling, scientifically accurate, and compliant with public-company disclosure requirements.
  • Ability to travel as needed for investor meetings, conferences, roadshows, and company events.

Preferred Skills and Background

  • Established relationships with biotechnology-focused institutional investors and sell-side research analysts.
  • Experience supporting an initial public offering, follow-on financing, investor day, product or clinical-data launch, or other significant capital-markets event.
  • Experience supporting a newly public, clinical-stage, platform biotechnology company and building scalable IR processes through rapid organizational and pipeline evolution.
  • Working knowledge of SEC disclosure requirements, Regulation FD, Nasdaq requirements, and communications considerations applicable to development-stage biotechnology companies.
  • Ability to understand genetic medicine, gene editing, molecular engineering, cardiovascular disease biology, and related competitive landscapes—and to translate technical concepts for different audiences without sacrificing accuracy.
  • A proactive, low-ego, hands-on working style; intellectual curiosity; strong relationship-building instincts; and enthusiasm for operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
