Director of Innovative Solutions
About the role
A leading organization in the animal nutrition and agriculture industry is seeking a Director of Innovative Solutions to lead the strategy, commercialization, and growth of an innovative technology portfolio spanning livestock, companion animal, and emerging market segments. This individual will serve as the bridge between research, product development, sales, strategic partners, and customers to bring novel technologies and solutions to market. The successful candidate will drive customer-focused innovation, strategic partnerships, technical education, and business growth while helping position the organization as an industry leader through solutions that improve animal performance, health, profitability, and sustainability. This role is 100% on-site in the greater Davenport, IA area and has up to 50% travel for customer visits, conferences, and field support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead innovation strategy and commercialization efforts across the business.
- Develop and grow a portfolio of proprietary and partner technologies.
- Identify market trends and new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch products and solutions.
- Build strategic relationships with customers, suppliers, research institutions, and industry partners.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team while supporting customer and sales initiatives.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, customer meetings, and trade events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Nutrition, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of leadership experience within animal nutrition, animal health, agriculture, or a related industry.
- Experience leading innovation, product development, or commercialization initiatives.
- Strong understanding of animal nutrition, feed technologies, and commercial business strategies.
- Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and lead teams.
- Strong communication, strategic thinking, and business acumen.
