Working the Company Way
At the company, the culture is one where winning matters - not for ego, but because when customers win, everyone wins together. The team moves fast, stays curious, and takes full ownership of results — no excuses, no finger-pointing. Individuals who thrive in ambiguity, take initiative, and view honest feedback as fuel for growth will feel right at home. The environment is direct but respectful, ambitious yet grounded, and collaborative at every level. Everyone leads through impact and is encouraged to speak up, share ideas, and challenge assumptions. This is a place for builders, not bystanders. Success here takes focus, follow-through, and a willingness to roll up sleeves — but if driven by meaningful work and real results, it's deeply rewarding. You'll join a team that cares about the work, supports one another, and takes smart risks to achieve bold goals. Be yourself, stay mission-focused, and you'll thrive. Great work happens anywhere, but great teams are built through intentional connection. The company offers hybrid and remote work models based on proximity to office hubs. Because in-person collaboration is valued, travel is an expected part of every role. The team comes together several times a year for team and company-wide offsites to align on goals and strengthen relationships. Attendance at these events is expected and fully supported.
What You'll Do
The organization is entering its next phase of growth and is looking for a Director of IT who has experience scaling an internal technology function through rapid growth and increasing complexity. This role isn't about maintaining what exists. It's about evolving it. You'll own the IT strategy, modernize systems and tooling, embed security and compliance into operations, and lead the adoption and governance of AI across the company. You'll work closely with Engineering, Security, Finance, People, and Operations — not just as a support function, but as a strategic partner who helps the business move faster and smarter.
Why This Role Matters
A strong foundation has been built. This role is about ensuring internal technology scales with the business and becomes a competitive advantage. You will be responsible for:
- Defining and leading the company's IT strategy, creating a clear 12–24 month roadmap aligned with business priorities, growth plans, and operational needs
- Establishing accountability and process discipline across the organization — identifying where standards aren't being followed, setting clear expectations, and driving adoption even where there's resistance
- Partnering closely with leadership to proactively identify risks, opportunities, and gaps across systems, security, tooling, and processes
- Building strong relationships across the organization and leading through influence, ensuring teams adopt the right processes, controls, and ways of working
- Driving a company-wide tooling strategy, ensuring investments are thoughtful, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with long-term business needs
- Establishing strong governance around systems, security, identity and access management, and AI usage across the company
- Developing processes and operating rhythms that allow the IT function to stay ahead of company growth rather than reacting to it
- Leading and developing the IT team, providing strategic direction while empowering the team to execute effectively
- Thriving in a fast-moving, high-growth environment with evolving priorities, ambiguity, and increasing complexity
What Success Looks Like
- A clear, forward-looking IT roadmap aligned to business priorities
- A rationalized, scalable, and cost-efficient tool stack
- Strong internal AI adoption with clear governance and measurable impact
- Seamless employee IT experience at scale
- Security and compliance fully integrated into day-to-day operations
What You'll Bring
- Experience leading IT strategy and systems architecture at a 500–1500 employee company
- Experience in high-growth environments where the company scaled significantly over a 3–5 year period
- Proven success consolidating fragmented tooling environments and driving more standardized, scalable systems
- Deep experience with identity and access management in complex SaaS environments
- Strong judgment balancing security, compliance, and business speed
- Experience creating AI governance frameworks, evaluating AI tools, and driving responsible adoption across a company
- Strong understanding of modern SaaS ecosystems, integrations, automation, and internal systems architecture
- Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on execution levels
- Strong cross-functional leadership and executive communication skills
- Experience partnering with security and compliance teams across frameworks like SOC2 and ISO
