About the Role
Springfield Utility Board (SUB) is an independently operated municipal electric and water utility governed by a locally-elected board. Serving over 25 square miles in and around Springfield, Oregon (population 55,000), SUB provides some of the lowest water and electric rates in the Pacific Northwest. As a customer-owned community resource, SUB focuses on excellent customer service, affordable rates, and community support.
The Director of Information & Operational Technology leads technology strategy, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and transformational initiatives for the utility. This role ensures the application of cost-effectiveness and continuous quality improvement across all programs and functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead technology strategy, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and transformational initiatives.
- Develop and administer departmental operating and capital budgets.
- Supervise professional and technical staff, including performance evaluations, team development, and operational planning.
- Oversee technology operations for a utilities or similarly complex service delivery organization.
- Collaborate with the governing Board and management to align technology initiatives with organizational goals.
Requirements
- Minimum of ten (10) years of combined experience in Information and Operational Technology.
- Minimum of five (5) years of executive or senior management experience leading technology department operations.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience supervising professional or technical staff, including performance evaluations and team development.
- Demonstrated experience developing and administering departmental operating and capital budgets.
- Experience leading technology strategy, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and transformational initiatives.
- Preferred experience in utilities or a similarly complex service delivery organization of comparable size.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a closely related field (required). An equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible executive-level experience may be considered.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (preferred).
Pay
$14,743.74 – $17,244.94 per month (starting salary: $14,743.74/month).
