Director of Industrial
Job Summary
The Director of Industrial will oversee the industrial sales operations within the northern territory, including North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. This role involves managing and leading a team to drive sales growth, develop strategic customer relationships, and ensure the achievement of sales targets. The Director of Industrial will play a critical role in expanding our market presence and enhancing profitability through effective leadership and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Industrial Account Managers.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base.
- Oversee the development of customer pricing strategies to enhance profitability.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industrial, government, institutional, and OEM customers.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and address any issues or concerns promptly.
- Cook up joint calls with suppliers and customers to drive sales initiatives.
Market Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
- Utilize data and analytics to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and coordinate training programs for the sales team.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the team’s continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Optimize sales processes and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in industrial sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
Strong understanding of electrical/lighting supplies, automation and control products, and the industrial market.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel within the northern territory as needed.
