Director of Health Services - DON (RN/DN)

About the role

Join Watermark Retirement Communities as Director of Health Services. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a Maryland State Delegating Nurse License who is passionate about senior housing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the health services department to ensure the highest level of resident care and safety.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures that comply with state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care plans for residents.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff to enhance their skills and professional development.
• Oversee the daily operations of the health services department, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Engage in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in senior healthcare.

Requirements

• A registered nurse license required.
• A Maryland State Delegating Nurse License required.
• Very strong business acumen.
• Exceptional knowledge of state and federal regulations.
• Excellent management skills.
• Highly organized.
• Great communication skills.
• Computer literate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare administration or related field.
• Experience in senior living or long-term care environments is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
