Responsibilities
- Engaging the workforce in the promotion and achievement of safe and healthy working conditions
- Making sure all employees and contractors follow safety procedures and guidelines
- Monitoring compliance related to OSHA / Life Safety regulations
- Offering advice to leadership on health and safety matters
- Overseeing procedures and policies related to safety
- Reporting safety metrics
- Conducting safety inspections
- Creating and delivering training for staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health (or related field) OR equivalent combination of education/certifications and experience
- Two (2) years of prior experience leading the Health and Safety function
- Prior experience in Healthcare, Long-term Care, Public Health or Human Services
- Knowledge of OSHA industry specific standards
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Valid Driver’s License and Automobile Insurance
- Ability to travel independently to assigned locations
- Ability to provide acceptable clearances
