Director of GTMHCAC Behavioral Health

Essential Functions

• Develops, directs, and leads the operational, financial, programmatic, and personnel activities for behavioral health services at the Grand Traverse Mental Health Crisis and Access Center (GTMHCAC).
• Establishs, meets, and continuously monitors the goals and objectives of GTMHCAC.
• Oversees coordination and integration of all services provided in the GTMHCAC, as well as diversion services.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with NLCMHA's policies and applicable laws.
• Interviews, hires, trains, and conducts regular clinical supervision of team members.
• Completes performance evaluations of team members and effectively addresses disciplinary issues when necessary.
• Establishs measurable performance standards and measures actual performance against those standards.
• Keeps informed of and understands human resource policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and union contract requirements.
• Maintains oversight of financial data and utilizes it for decision-making regarding FTE's, staffing, and an operational budget.
• Authorizes services consistent with the NLCMHA authorization system.
• Serves as a representative of Behavioral Health Services to NLCMHA in order to facilitate the shared interests and relationship between community partners of GTMHCAC.
• Coordinates and aligns Behavioral Health Services and supporting disciplines across inpatient and ambulatory settings.
• Facilitates processes to support internal and external transitions of behavioral health care for local emergency rooms, ambulatory settings, Street Outreach, local law enforcement, and the community.
• Establishs networks with community behavioral health services and other health care organizations to strengthen services to underserved patients.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling from an accredited university.
• Licensure with the State of Michigan as a fully licensed professional: LMSW, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Limited Licensed Masters Social Worker (LLMSW).
• Maintain licensure.
• Minimum of 5 years previous clinical experience and 2 years of administrative supervision.

PAY

• $97,374 - $107,724

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• May require irregular hours.
• May require travel by personal vehicle if an agency vehicle is not available.
• Occasionally: lifting up to 25 lbs., stretching/reaching, exposure to blood borne pathogens and infectious disease, exposure to hazardous material, stooping (bend at waist).
• Frequently: hand/finger dexterity, talking in person, talking on the telephone, hearing in person, hearing on the telephone, vision for close work.
