Director of Forensics & RestorationLocation: San Francisco, CAEmployment Type: Full-time, RegularWork Arrangement: Hybrid The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Director of Structural Forensics & Restoration to lead and grow a structural forensics and restoration practice in San Francisco. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a structural engineering professional who combines strong technical expertise with project leadership, client development, and team-building capabilities. The Director will oversee complex forensic and restoration projects, cultivate key client relationships, drive business growth, and mentor a high-performing team. The organization provides multidisciplinary engineering and consulting services focused on structural integrity and building performance, including forensic investigations, building envelope assessments, and restoration. Its specialists investigate the underlying causes of complex structural, architectural, and building envelope issues and develop practical, long-term solutions. What You’ll DoLead and oversee complex structural forensics and restoration projects.Maintain high standards for project quality, execution, budgets, and timelines.Coordinate cross-functional teams and allocate resources effectively.Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support long-term business growth.Drive business development initiatives and contribute to sales, revenue, and profitability goals.Review and approve project budgets, scopes, and proposals.Ensure projects comply with applicable risk management policies and contractual requirements.Manage the financial performance of the practice to achieve profitability and growth objectives.Mentor and develop team members, supporting their technical and professional growth.Participate in recruiting and team-building efforts to expand the practice and strengthen its capabilities. What You Bring EducationBachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience & QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) licensure in California.8+ years of structural engineering experience.Demonstrated success managing large and complex structural forensics and restoration projects.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and motivate technical professionals.Experience building client relationships and contributing to business development and revenue growth.Ability to balance technical excellence, project delivery, financial performance, and team development. CompensationThe estimated base salary range for this position is $160,000–$180,000 per year, with eligibility for a significant performance-based bonus. Final compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, skills, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law.
