Position Summary

The Director of Food Service is responsible for leading the company’s proprietary food programs across locations. This role owns the strategy, development, execution standards, and performance optimization of company food concepts to ensure they are differentiated, guest-relevant, and operationally executable at scale. This position partners closely with Category Management, Operations, Training, Supply Chain, Technology, and Quality Assurance to deliver best-in-class programs that drive traffic, loyalty and profitability while maintaining consistent execution and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy and roadmap for food programs

  • Define platform positioning, menu, and ensure it differentiates the company from competition

  • Optimize menus for speed of service, operational simplicity, and profitability

  • Support value, limited-time, and regional offers as appropriate

  • Balance customization, throughput, and execution consistency

  • Ensure programs are simple, scalable, and executable in stores

  • Partner with Training & Execution teams to develop playbooks and SOPs

  • Support equipment standards, layouts, and kitchen workflows

  • Conduct field visits to validate execution and identify gaps

  • Monitor performance metrics including sales, speed, and waste

  • Identify opportunities to improve labor efficiency and guest satisfaction

  • Support pilots, tests, and phased rollouts of new initiatives

  • Build business cases for enhancements or expansions

  • Collaborate closely with Operations, QA, Supply Chain, IT, and Marketing

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Align with technology partners on ordering systems and digital platforms

Requirements

  • Extensive proven experience in convenience food service leadership

  • Strong understanding of multi-unit operations and in-store execution

  • Proven cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Ability to operate effectively in both strategic and field environments

  • Willingness to travel
