Director of Fire Protection Services

Position Details

The Director serves as the chief executive responsible for the leadership, administration, strategic direction, and operational readiness of Fire Protection Services. The position develops and implements departmental goals, policies, procedures, and performance standards to ensure the delivery of effective, efficient, and professional emergency services that protect life, property, and the continuity of university operations.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Associate's Degree + 8 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 6 years of relevant experience. Master's degree or higher preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field + 8 years of paid, full-time fire department experience with a minimum of 3 years of increasingly progressive management experience at the rank of Captain or above.
• Special Certification/Licensure: New Mexico Class E driver's license; IFSAC or equivalent Firefighter II Certification; IFSAC or equivalent Fire Instructor I Certification; IFSAC or equivalent Fire Officer I and II Certification; ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800; and New Mexico Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (Must obtain within six months of hire).
