Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

This role serves as a strategic finance leader for the business, with responsibility for P&L and balance sheet planning, forecasting, performance management, and decision support. The Director leads the development of the business's five-year strategic financial plan and drives the annual operating plan, forecasts, and financial reporting processes at a global level. The position partners closely with business leaders to develop financial models and analyses that inform strategic decisions, enhance profitability, and support long-term business success. Based at the BMT headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN, and reporting directly to the Vice President, Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Business Partnership
    • Develop and maintain 5-year business models to guide the strategic planning of the company, engaging with local business leaders and translating and meeting Enterprise process and outcome expectations.
    • Advise and influence executive business leaders to evaluate growth opportunities, strategic investments, and operational initiatives. Recommend resource allocations and investment priorities.
    • Translate business strategies into financial scenarios, risks, opportunities, and actionable recommendations.
    • Translate 5-year business models into valuation models for impairment testing.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
    • Optimize, shape and drive annual and other periodic planning processes, leveraging and optimizing use of systems and AI tools, and coordinating to meet business leader and Enterprise Finance stakeholder needs.
    • Establish and communicate financial planning assumptions, calendars, targets and governance.
    • Influence global FP&A processes that align with both the One Bracco philosophy while meeting the needs of the local operating unit, by engaging with and influencing peers and leaders within the Bracco FP&A community and at the enterprise level.
    • Advise and influence executive management to develop challenging financial goals, operating plans and insightful measurement systems.
    • Create concise, business-focused dashboards, reporting packages, and presentations that translate financial data into actionable insights for Finance and Non-Finance stakeholders.
    • Champion data quality, reporting consistency, and continuous improvement across FP&A processes.
  • Reporting and Performance Management
    • Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting effort ensuring all business leaders are up to date and informed of the financial health of their areas of responsibility.
    • Meet Enterprise expectations regarding reporting and explanation of monthly results.
    • Lead the global operating mechanism for FP&A, including all the design of the system, training and process standardization for the other regions and final consolidation reporting to Executive Committee and Corporate Headquarters.
    • Identify and escalate material performance risks and recommend corrective options and countermeasures.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to the VP of Finance and other functional executive leaders.
  • Employee Development
    • Promote and foster growth of team members through skills development and sharing of best practices.
    • Establish role clarity, process consistency, and performance expectations.
    • Provide continuous feedback, recognition, and motivational techniques and tools.
    • Oversee and conduct training of new and existing employees.
    • Identify resource needs and communicate to management for improvement, including the addition of capabilities and future growth projections to support a dynamic and growing business.
    • Assess future workforce and competency needs.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree preferably with major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Finance professional with 10+ years of experience working in progressive roles in a complex multinational organization, partnering with and influencing executive level leaders.
  • 3+ years supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI to optimize planning and analysis activities and using systems and automation to transform planning and reporting processes.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex global matrix structures, build cross-functional partnerships, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior executives and influencing strategic, operational, and resource-allocation choices.
  • Business planning and forecasting experience.
  • Strong computer application skills including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • High level interpersonal skills; effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to author and deliver presentations that translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-finance business partners in a simple way.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational skills; ability to multi-task while effectively prioritizing and applying good judgment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, detail-oriented and thorough.
  • Exceptional time-management skills to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA and/or MBA or comparable advanced certification.
  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industry.
  • Experience working in a global manufacturing organization.
  • Business intelligence, business warehouse, and planning tool software experience (HFM / Hyperion, BW Reporting).
  • Experience using Macros, V lookups, Pivot Tables, VBA, and SQL knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply financial analysis and modeling in solving business problems.
  • Ability to go beyond the numbers, consider the broad business implications in helping senior management and business partners; identify and exploit opportunities to improve business performance.
  • Experience challenging assumptions, demonstrating curiosity, and identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and business performance.

Pay

Estimated beginning salary: $190,000.00 - $215,000.00. The provided range is based on salary and market data and may vary based on an employee's eligibility for geographic differential pay in high-cost-of-living markets.
