Director of Finance

About the role

The Director of Finance, Reporting & Insights will lead the integration of financial strategy with technical execution, serving as a catalyst for AI enablement across the Finance organization. Reporting to the Vice President of Enterprise Financial Planning and Insights, this role will oversee the transformation of complex data into clear, actionable business intelligence, manage a high-performing team, and drive the evolution of Shipt’s reporting ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Operationalize a strategic cross-Finance partnership model
• Act as the primary liaison between Finance and technical teams
• Streamline and evolve financial reporting frameworks
• Drive the roadmap for data accessibility and tech stack modernization
• Lead and develop the Financial Reporting and Insights team

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Finance, Data Strategy, or Business Intelligence
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field (MBA preferred)
• Technical proficiency in SQL, Excel, and BI platforms
• Ability to simplify complex business and financial requests for technical teams
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills
• Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration
• Experience managing people and prioritizing high-volume requests in a fast-paced environment

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, allowing flexibility to work from home or at a Shipt office. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require full-time in-office presence.
