A bit about us:

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Director of Finance for our mortgage division. This is a pivotal role that will be responsible for the financial health of our organization. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thought partner who will drive financial planning, enhance internal controls, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the financial operations of the mortgage division, including the development of financial and operational strategies and metrics, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization, i.e., evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions and/or mergers, and investments.
  • Develop and implement strategies for capital structure management, budgeting, cash management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs, and securing of new funding.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies across all aspects of the business.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division, and weekly cash flow by division.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with financial partners, including investors, banks, auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead and support the company’s strategic planning process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role within the hospitality industry, with a track record of success and increasing responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis with previous experience overseeing human resources, information technology, and legal.
  • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission of the company.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in the mortgage industry.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
  • Possess strong analytical skills and be comfortable working with large amounts of data.
  • Must have strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
