About the role

Elderwood at Lancaster is seeking an experienced Director of Facilities Management to oversee all aspects of facility maintenance, life safety compliance, preventative maintenance, and grounds management. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for residents, staff, and visitors while leading the maintenance team and supporting the overall operation of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and supervise all maintenance and housekeeping operations for the facility, including building systems, equipment, grounds, and life safety programs.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs and coordinate vendor services.
  • Manage departmental budgets and inventories.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for fire safety, maintenance, and environmental services support to assigned location(s).
  • Participate as a co-chairperson in the facility Safety Committee and in the Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP).
  • Responsible for Preventive Maintenance Plans and environmental reviews and annual visits.
  • Supervise and be responsible for Maintenance and Environmental staff, including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and administering disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Attend and lead in-service programs and have an active role in General Orientation to ensure proper training on emergency utility shut off and fire and safety features of the facility.
  • Approve payroll and maintain labor budget within specified parameters.
  • Provide operational assistance and support for Elderwood Development projects.
  • Advocate for facility Administration and RDO’s on projects that affect their facilities.
  • Approve all requests for purchasing for various departments including Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Laundry.
  • Adhere to NFPA Code Compliance through review and interpretation for all facilities; maintain knowledge of all local life safety/fire safety codes and NFPA.
  • Conduct testing and program compliance of all potable water systems and manage and enforce Cooling Tower testing and program.
  • Maintain environmental compliance for all regulatory agencies including DOH, local/state/federal, etc.
  • Arrive to work on time, regularly, and work as scheduled; follow dress code and facility policies.
  • Support and abide by Pediatric Specialty Care’s Mission, Vision, and Values, and comply with its code of conduct, compliance, and HIPAA policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, management staff, or Administrator.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in related areas of physical plant, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or HVAC systems maintenance preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current, valid driver license required.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Life Safety Codes and NFPA preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
