Director of Facilities Management

About the role

Directs, plans, and administers the comprehensive operations, asset protection, and maintenance programs for all County-owned buildings, grounds, parking lots, and associated infrastructure. Serves as the primary project manager for County construction, space planning, and facility renovations. Formulates departmental policy, manages capital and operational budgets, and provides strategic leadership to maintenance and custodial personnel.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and present the Capital Maintenance and Repair Plan.
• Oversee the lifecycle of facility expansion, renovation, and construction projects, acting as the County's representative to ensure compliance with budgets, timelines, and contract specifications.
• Assist in the recruitment, selection, professional development, and performance evaluation of Maintenance Department staff.
• Resolve personnel issues, execute corrective action when necessary, and foster a productive work environment.
• Manage and/or assist in developing comprehensive project bid packages and requests for proposals (RFPs).
• Review contractor proposals, recommend vendor selections to leadership, and oversee third-party contractors to verify code compliance and quality workmanship.
