About the role
The Director of Experiential Education, Simulation, and Standardized Patient Experiences at Niazee College of Osteopathic Medicine (NCOM) leads simulation-based pre-clinical and clinical education, including OPP/OMT, foundational sciences, standardized patient encounters, POCUS, and OSCEs.
Responsibilities
- Provides strategic oversight and leadership for simulation, POCUS, OSCE, and standardized patient programs to advance institutional educational goals and accreditation standards.
- Led curriculum innovation and program development by designing, implementing, and evaluating high-quality experiential learning experiences in collaboration with faculty and academic leadership.
- Manages operational and financial resources for experiential education programs, including budgets, facilities, equipment, scheduling, and long-term growth planning.
- Buils and leads high-performing teams through recruitment, supervision, mentorship, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Ensures program excellence and institutional alignment through quality assurance, assessment effectiveness, accreditation readiness, and strong internal and external partnerships.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree with clinical training, active board certification (ABMS/AOA), and eligibility for medical licensure in Illinois.
- Significant experience in medical education, simulation-based learning, standardized patient programs, and/or POCUS education.
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical POCUS instruction and integration of experiential learning into medical education curricula.
- Prominent ability to design, implement, assess, and improve simulation-based and experiential education programs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising personnel and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of medical school, GME, hospital education structures, and accreditation standards, including COCA and ACGME requirements.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex projects, resources, and competing priorities.

Pay
Full-time faculty appointment with academic rank commensurate with experience. Potential flexibility in FTE to accommodate external clinical practice.
