About the role
The Director of Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) is responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations at Phoenix Tailings’ operations in Exeter, NH and Burlington, MA. This role oversees all EH&S programs, conducts regular audits, and works closely with local regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all EH&S programs including but not limited to waste management, air quality, water quality, and occupational health.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Work closely with local regulatory bodies to address any non-compliance issues and develop corrective action plans.
- Develop and implement training programs for employees on EH&S best practices.
- Manage emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate EH&S considerations into operational processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in EH&S management, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex EH&S projects and programs.
- Knowledge of relevant environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Experience in tailings management and/or mining operations is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with environmental software tools.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of environmental, health, and safety principles and practices.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on that analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Pay
Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
