About the role

The Director of Engineering for Corporate Facilities, Building Systems & Controls is a leadership role responsible for overseeing all engineering, operations, and lifecycle management of building infrastructure across a corporate office portfolio, along with select mission-critical spaces such as data centers, server rooms, and network distribution facilities. This leader ensures that mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), HVAC, building automation systems (BAS/BMS), life-safety systems, and data-center-grade infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. The role drives strategic investments, modernization initiatives, and data-driven operational improvements across a blended environment of office facilities and critical IT spaces. Visa requires at least 3 days in office; expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee engineering, operations, and lifecycle management of building infrastructure across a corporate office portfolio and mission-critical spaces.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of MEP, HVAC, BAS/BMS, life-safety systems, and data-center-grade infrastructure.
  • Drive strategic investments, modernization initiatives, and data-driven operational improvements.
  • Define and execute multi-year engineering strategies and large-scale modernization programs.
  • Manage complex vendor ecosystems, delivering capital programs on time and within budget.
  • Achieve measurable infrastructure performance outcomes.
  • Oversee OT/ICS cybersecurity governance and IT/OT convergence for building systems.
  • Lead ESG strategy, energy management, and sustainability program delivery for large real estate portfolios.
  • Develop and manage capital budgets of significant scale.
  • Engage with executive stakeholders and manage client relationships.
  • Lead talent development, organizational transformation, and DEI advocacy.
  • Ensure EHS compliance and business continuity/disaster recovery.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or
  • At least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD), or
  • At least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or
  • 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or
  • 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in engineering, facilities, or mission-critical infrastructure leadership.
  • 10+ years in leadership roles managing global or multi-regional engineering organizations and capital budgets of significant scale.
  • Deep technical expertise across HVAC/mechanical systems, electrical infrastructure, BAS/BMS, OT/controls, and data center or mission-critical environments.
  • Demonstrated success in defining and executing multi-year engineering strategies and large-scale modernization programs.
  • Proven track record managing complex vendor ecosystems and achieving measurable infrastructure performance outcomes.
  • Experience in OT/ICS cybersecurity governance and IT/OT convergence for building systems.
  • Background in ESG strategy, energy management, and sustainability program delivery for large real estate portfolios.
  • Prior experience within a global corporate real estate, FM outsourcing, or professional services environment.

Pay

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $170,700.00 to $273,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.

Schedule

  • Work hours vary upon the needs of the department.
  • This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Work Environment

This position will be performed in an office setting. The role will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, and frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
