Director of Engineering - US Growth (Large Factor Assembly, Industrial Engineer, and Material Flow)
About the role
Jabil, Inc. is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and optimize large-scale factory assembly processes, industrial engineering initiatives, and material flow strategies across our US growth operations. This role will drive efficiency, scalability, and innovation in our manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic plans for large factor assembly operations, ensuring alignment with company growth objectives.
Oversee the design, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, including line balancing, workstation layout, and automation integration.
Lead and mentor a team of industrial engineers, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and operational excellence.
Establish and maintain robust material flow systems, including inbound logistics, internal material handling, and outbound shipping, to maximize throughput and minimize waste.
Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, supply chain, quality, and production teams to ensure seamless product introduction and manufacturing execution.
Evaluate and implement new technologies and best practices in industrial engineering and advanced manufacturing.
Manage capital expenditure projects related to factory expansion and equipment upgrades, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering and manufacturing operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in industrial and/or manufacturing engineering, with a strong focus on large-scale assembly operations and material flow.
Proven expertise in industrial engineering principles, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, time studies, and capacity planning.
Extensive experience in designing and optimizing complex material flow systems within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams.
Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale manufacturing projects.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation tools.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $159,600 - $287,300. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
Schedule
This role will be based out of one of US facilities and will require up to 75% travel domestically.
